Andrew Goss

Novelist Andrew Goss is a former print journalist, overseas aid worker and humanitarian reporter based in Aultbea, north-west Highlands. His work has led him to travel across Europe, Africa and South Asia. He is a passionate advocate of education for the world’s poorest, and specifically girls and young women.

His first novel, The Humanitarian, is set in the aftermath of Pakistan’s devastating earthquake of 2005, where he worked for several years in the Himalayan foothills supporting the international relief effort. 

In his latest book, Cold Coffee in Asmara, the story takes place in Eritrea, north-east Africa, following its protracted war with Ethiopia. It is the second in a planned trilogy focusing on some of the world’s poorest communities in the world. 
Originally from Leicester Andrew has recently relocated to Wester-Ross, where he now lives with his partner Claire, a nurse and former aid worker.

He is currently completing his third novel, a timeless love story set primarily within the Highlands, drawing on the beauty of its landscape and the richness of its culture.
