But as a result of fighting back and almost killing him, Emily faces an escalating hate campaign from an extreme men’s rights group – Backlash.
Determined to expose those leading the campaign, Emily joins forces with her solicitor, Julie, to gather evidence about the far-fight conspiracy behind Backlash. Facing increasing danger, as well as unwanted attention from the security services, Emily and Julie confront a stark choice; to see this through together, or split up and risk failure.
Michael Shew began writing fiction after retiring as the head teacher of a London comprehensive school, following a forty-year career in education. This novel, whilst standing alone, is the sequel to Lessons in Lying (2019, Austin Macauley Publishers), published after he took a course at the University of Oxford. He still works part time at Sheffield Hallam University. Michael is married to Francesca and they share their lives between London and Derbyshire.
