A pharmacy storage room. The grim sight of the body of a youngster, eyes frozen into black holes and face livid. From the top of his ear spreads a bloody gunk – it’s clear that the Grim Reaper has taken his bounty.

Nurse and pharmacist Sanna Blinck has had to learn to live her life as a strong, independent woman. Being a widower and an entrepreneur has meant honing her instincts and relying on her own gut. When her life is turned upside down by a vortex of events after coming upon the scene of a crime, she finds that the ghosts of her past have come to life.

Using her wits to gain the trust (and love) of the policeman in charge of the murder investigation, Sanna will use everything at her disposal to get to the bottom of the case.

Tiina Utoslahti gained her degree in Nursing from Oulu Polytechnic in Finland in 1995. Following this, she worked in different geriatric units until she received the position of Theatre Nurse at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London. In 2003, Tina took her Pharmacy degree at Helsinki University, after which she worked in several pharmacies around the Oulu region in Northern Finland. She currently works as a Vaccination Nurse in Helsinki, living in Vantaa with her spouse. She is the grandmother to three children, and was inspired to write Ex Tempore by her background in the medical field.
