Two very different worlds are about to collide.
Feisty country girl Annabeth Hope has sworn off men since her ex abandoned her. Juggling three resentful step-teens, a hyperactive toddler, a smallholding, and a herd of rescued llamas, she has her hands full.
With the roof about to collapse on her crumbling New Forest home, she is desperate to find a way to hold her patchwork family together. The last thing she needs is an attractive distraction moving in next door.
Burnt-out inner-city doctor Rick Mahon has left London and his medical career behind in a moment of professional crisis. A malpractice lawsuit is on the horizon, and the cancel culture mob are snapping at his heels. His plan to stay under the radar is thrown off course when he meets his new neighbour and sparks start to fly.
Annabeth and Rick couldn't be more different, but maybe they hold the key to each other’s happiness…
“What more could we want from life? Family, friends, llamas, and hope...
An excellent read.” Jenny Kane, author of the bestselling Mill Grange Series.

I absolutely love this book! It's warm and relatable characters leap off the page and into your heart!
I've just finished it and miss them already but am totally thrilled to hear there's another book set in the same community on the way! It's everything I want in a book - exciting and uplifting - and realistic characters who you'd love to share coffee and cake with! A family story, a love story, a story of community and overcoming challenges together. Can't wait for the next one! An absolute comfort blanket of a book!

Just what the doctor ordered!
If a book could be described as kind-hearted, warm and friendly this is it.
If a book could give you a hug, wrap you in a blanket, run you a warm bath and make you a cup of tea this is it:)

The Mid-life Trials of Annabeth Hope follows mother-of-four Beth as she struggles to keep a leaking roof over her ungrateful children’s heads. She wouldn’t have thought things could get any worse when a new neighbour appears but her life is full of one surprise after another. This neighbour has a massive problem of his own and neither wants to get entangled with the other. They’ll never see eye-to-eye at the rate they’re going. You won’t want to put this book down until you find out how it all goes for Beth and Rick. Such a good page-turner!
