Full synopsis

Pianist Max Silento has been murdered, but who did it? It wasn’t Scarlet – she would have made it look like a death of natural causes, and then DI Ronnie Twist and her sergeant, Luke Carter, wouldn’t be poking around.

Scarlet would do almost anything for retired judge Ada, but going to jail was never part of the bargain. Unable to confide in her manipulative employer and benefactor, Scarlet knows one of her new-found family must be to blame… but what could the motive possibly be?

Who is the killer in the seemingly perfect Rosewood family? As the police net closes in around her, Scarlet puts her home-grown detective skills to use in a race against time to uncover the killer before she is arrested herself.

Set in the market town of Beverley, this is the second Twist in the Tale novel.

Read the reviews

Here's what readers have to say about this book....

Chill with a Book (Reader 2)

A very well written book that keeps the reader turning the page. The characters are well rounded and very believable. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author.

Chill with a Book (Reader 3)

I really enjoyed this very well written crime novel with a twist. All the characters were convincing and three dimensional and the plot is pacy with plenty of mystery involved. This was a highly polished and literate book which stood out as different in the genre and deserves to be read.

Chill with a Book (Reader 1)

What at first appears as an ordinary murder plot quickly unravels into complications, suspicions and a school of red herrings. The plot is very soundly constructed and the number of characters kept to a minimum which builds the tension yet artfully misdirects. Character, plot and solid writing make this an excellent and satisfying read.
