Charlie Mellon has one job today – to be with his wife when she gives birth to their first child.
It should be easy.
Instead, Charlie finds himself in the car park of a derelict pub called The World’s End. His phone is dead, his car has vanished, and he’s miles from the hospital.
Desperate to get home, Charlie joins forces with Paul, a silent monk determined to stop the woman he loves from marrying the wrong man. Together, they embark on a frantic cross-country dash involving a suspicious fire, stolen bicycles, a seductive farmer, a borrowed car, an irate groom and more disasters than either man could have imagined.
But no matter which road they take, every route somehow leads them back to The World’s End.
As roads close, plans unravel and the clock ticks down, Charlie begins to wonder whether the universe is conspiring against him… or if fate is simply having a laugh at his expense.
