Imogen Imagine

I have read Steve Couch books before and loved them. This one did not disappoint. I liked the characters and I loved the writing style of Couch. I look forward to reading more of his books in the future. He has a way of making you feel like you are right there in the book with the characters living the same situations.

The setting, vibes and characters immediately pulled me in and I was hooked since the first chapter! I finished this in one sitting because I just had to know how it was going to end! This was my first book by Steve Couch and I'd love to read more!

Such an intriguing and emotional read! I really enjoyed the way the story explores imagination, identity, relationships, and the ways people try to make sense of the lives they are living. Imogen was a fascinating character to follow, and I loved getting deeper into her perspective as the story unfolded. There is a really interesting balance between the personal and the unexpected that kept me invested. The story made me think about how much we understand the people around us and how easily our perceptions can change when new information comes to light. Overall, Imogen Imagine was thoughtful, unusual, and engaging. I really enjoyed the characters and the questions the story raises about identity and perception

This book has a very clever premise exploring the flip side of a musician's soul-bearing big hit about his break up - and focuses on the girl who broke up with him. It slowly and skilfully reveals why she did so, and all the trauma that fed into her decision. The story carries you along and becomes a bit of an emotional rollercoaster in that more and more problems are piled onto this already traumatised young woman. There are twists and surprises right up until the end, which in my opinion was handled very well. If you have ever found yourself the subject of social media hate - you will identify with Imogen Boyd, but even if you haven't, you will understand her plight is a very real problem in today's society.

Mixing Music fame, social media, and loss, then add a betrayal and a smart plot and you end up with Imogen Imagine, this novel will grip the reader from start to end with its disturbing storyline and potential outcomes - I loved it!
