Down in the Mouth

At a quiz night at the Follycombe Hotel, hosted by former Detective Inspector Clive Walsingham and his wife Clare, the evening takes a deadly turn when a contestant collapses and dies from a severe allergic reaction. At first, it appears to be a tragic accident until a missing woman connected to the same quiz team is found dead.

Convinced there is more to the case than meets the eye, Clive joins forces with the hapless DI “Dick” Beauregard and the formidable Sergeant Alison Pawlett to uncover the truth.

As they delve deeper, they uncover a complex web of betrayal and revenge. With each suspect hiding secrets and the killer prepared to strike again, Clive must outwit the murderer before the next victim is chosen or before he becomes one himself.
