Edge of Civilisation

A missing girl, a web of lies and a police officer that wants to play by the rules but finds it impossible.

When fifteen-year-old Jodie Kinsella disappears, Detective Inspector William Wordsworth is determined to find her. But as he begins to investigate, it soon becomes clear that Jodie may not be the only vulnerable young girl who has vanished without trace.

What begins with an assumption it’s the work of a local Bradford grooming gang, links start to emerge between the missing teenagers, a group of privileged schoolboys and a mysterious online world. Wordsworth finds himself drawn into an investigation far darker than he could have imagined and the deeper he digs, the more disturbing the truth becomes…

But Wordsworth is not a conventional detective. He knows the rules, but rules are not only there to be obeyed, they’re also there to be broken.

In a case where nothing is quite what it seems, how far will he go to uncover the truth?
