Fantasy and Horror
Raegan Oaks has spent her life fighting invisible battles of pain with no name, and grief that never lets her breathe. When betrayal shatters the fragile bridge she’s built with her flatmate, Ethan Zarik, she flees into the night towards an ancient oak, which mysteriously opens to the realm of Liravel: a world of magic long thought lost.
There, beneath its epic sky and ancient peaks, embers of power begin to spark, shadows whisper her name, and a dangerous Fae warrior sees what she cannot…
Back in the mortal world, Ethan is unravelling, haunted by nightmares and clawed by demons and darkness he can barely control. When fate rips their worlds apart, he surrenders to the monster within, knowing it’s the only way to tear open the realms to reach her.
Two souls bound by a curse older than time.
Light and shadow. Love and ruin.
And a choice that could burn both realms to ash.
Here's what readers have to say about this book....
I thoroughly enjoyed the privilege of being an advance reader of this one! I'm not someone who over-analyses books — I want a story that pulls me in, keeps me turning pages, and leaves me a bit disappointed when it ends. This did exactly that. The biggest surprise was how much I cared about the characters. I was genuinely invested in what happened to them, both in Inverness and in Liravel, and they went in directions I wasn't expecting a few times. Always a good sign. The balance felt right too — enough humour, enough emotion & romance, and the fantasy never got in the way of the story. It also dealt with some genuinely serious topics, but in a way that felt safe rather than heavy. This was a great fantasy book to get lost in. The best compliment I can give: I wasn't ready to leave either world by the end. I’d be happy to spend LOADS more time with these characters, and already looking forward to where it goes next! Also, I now really want to go to university in Inverness, so make of that what you will.
