Two teachers. A scorching hot history between them. Will this be their lesson in love or a happy-never-after?
Newly qualified teacher Holly’s life is in shambles. After her boyfriend cheats on her and she loses her dream job, she moves out of their new-build and into a mould-infested bedsit. But Holly’s ready to turn a page.
When life gives you lemons and cheating boyfriends, make a vodka sour and guard your heart. She finds a new job and swears off men. However, she’s robbed of a fresh start when her mentor turns out to be her first love, Alex—the man who destroyed her heart ten years ago. All she wants is to forget their past, but Alex isn’t the forgetting type.
Despite his hostile ways and judgemental remarks, Alex seems to always come to her rescue like a knight in shining armour wielding a sword—or in Alex’s case, a stiff-looking power suit, brandishing a whiteboard pointer instead.
What if everything she thought she knew about Alex is wrong and this is her second chance at love? Will she take it? And if she does, will the past repeat itself?

I honestly don’t think I can express how much I LOVED this book! Holly is an absolutely incredible FMC, she is relatable with her clumsiness, she says what everyone is thinking and to be honest - she is downright BADASS! I loved how she not only grew as a character and overcame the toughest challenges life could throw at her (I mean seriously, she needs a week on a beach with Pina Coladas on tap) and her character arc was incredible, but she somehow managed to make the rest of the characters grow alongside her. Now, Alex. Where on earth do I start with Alex? For half of the book, I very much wanted to smack him in the face. For the other half, I was crossing my fingers and my toes and PRAYING that he would sweep Holly off her feet and take her into a stationary cupboard. There aren’t many books that have made me feel so many different emotions towards the MMC so Nina - congratulations! The writing style is incredible and I was drawn in from the first page, absolutely devouring this in less than 24 hours and hating having to put the book down. I cannot recommend this enough to any romance lover.
The paperback is 266 pages long, which took me just under 3 hours to read.
