Frank Hurst was born in south London and spent thirty-six years as a criminal investigator and intelligence officer for the British Government, travelling widely in his career, including many years based in the Far East, India and the Caribbean. He has written six novels and two children's books. His Golden Triangle Trilogy, crime thrillers set in Thailand, received wide acclaim and won literary awards. His current novels are historical thrillers, based in part around the life of his great grandfather, Henry Gough. Frank recently assisted the BBC in a documentary about the life and times of drugs smuggler, Howard Marks.
