Jane H Wood

Jane H. Wood was born in Bristol, then later with her family moved to Colchester, Essex. Jane is an award-winning author and enjoys writing books for children, young adults and new adult audiences.

A former senior window display designer, Jane is now retired.

Besides her interest in writing, Jane enjoys art, experimenting with a variety of mediums, preferring at present to use pen and ink for sketching the illustrations in her Stikki the Squirrel books.

‘I love being amongst nature, finding inspiration in the natural world. Walking through woodlands or green spaces is so beneficial for your health and well-being. My husband and I are lucky and often enjoy a wander along the South Downs trails or stroll along the promenade in the seaside town of Worthing, West Sussex where we live.

‘We welcome grey squirrels into our garden. They are endearing, happy-go-lucky little animals. I love to watch their crazy antics as they dash around our garden. watching them inspired me to write a happy, light-hearted story about them.’

Jane’s latest book for children is: Stikki the Squirrel: Tree Spirits, book two in the series. The book features her own illustrations.
