Jane H. Wood, born in Bristol, later lived in Essex. She is an award-winning author and enjoys writing books for children, young adults and new adult audiences.
A former senior window display designer, Jane is now retired.
When she is not busy in the house or garden, Jane enjoys cruising or holiday’s in the U.K.
Besides her writing, Jane enjoys art, experimenting with a variety of mediums, preferring the hand-on approach with reliable pen and Indian ink for sketching.
‘I love animals and nature, finding inspiration being out in the natural world. Walking through woodlands or green spaces is so beneficial for your health and well-being. As for myself and my husband, well we are lucky and often enjoy a wander along the promenade in the seaside town of Worthing, West Sussex where we live.
‘We welcome grey squirrels into our garden. They are endearing, happy-go-lucky rodents. I love to watch their mad antics as they dash around our garden, which inspired me to write a happy little story about them.’
Jane’s latest book for children is called, Stikki the Squirrel, and features her own illustrations.
Other books by Jane are:
GoldenEars: The Pale Skulls. Book Two.
GoldenEars: The Whispering Mountain. Book One.
My latest book is for children aged 7 years and older is my endearing, Stikki the Squirrel. I am happy to announce that the book is a Finalist winner in The Wishing Shelf Book Awards 2024/25.
