In 1975 I moved (penniless) from Tamworth, England to South Germany in order to be with my German girlfriend and marry her. Which I did. We are now a family of thirteen with five grandchildren.
I spent nearly fifty years in the educational sector, over thirty of these running my own private tutorial school. With the marvellous assistance of Dr Fritz Held, Child Psychiatrist, I found measurable solutions to dyslexia and dyscalculia often, but not always, coupled with AD(H)D. I wrote a book about this journey titled ‘Dyslexia: Prove Teachers and Experts Wrong,’ - which I did.
I retired at the age of sixty-nine and was moved to write a book of fiction about the terrible trials and sufferings both our parents endured during WW II.
One of my main motivators was to remind ourselves of what this generation fought for, and against.
In my fair homeland, Ignorance and Evil has raised their ugly heads all too often of late; so, I will conclude with John Donne’s “Never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.”

Learning Disabilities affect approximately twenty per cent of the population. There proven methods for overcoming these afflictions, unfortunately they have been ignored up until now.
The partial good news is that phonics are making a come-back in teaching children to read and write. This is an important partial improvement.
