A UK Patron of Reading, and a member of the National Association of Writers in Education, he actively promotes the importance of reading, literacy and creative writing by visiting primary and secondary schools, colleges, libraries and literary events across the U.K. delivering his acclaimed, interactive, motivational and inspiring sessions designed to excite and energise young people’s imagination and interest in the power of words. He is a firm believer that every school should have a fully funded library and a librarian at its heart.
Touring since 2010 and taking in venues across the UK, featuring on BBC Radio programmes, and appearing at events including, Hampshire Children in Care Awards, Swindon Youth Festival of Literature, International Kid’s Lit Quiz, Appledore Book Festival, Furness LitFest, Penzance Literary Festival, The Berkshire Book Award, Wessex Amazing Book Award, The Concorde Book Award, Sherborne Literary Festival, The Earl’s Court Literacy Festival, Wells Festival of Literature, and The Frome Festival. Joffre has now made more than 2500 appearances with return visits requested regularly.

Portadown: Top author Joffre White visits Killicomaine Junior High School to help launch new Northern Ireland-wide school library system. Killicomaine Junior High School in Portadown hosted the launch of a new and innovative school library system led by the Education Authority.
The Education Library Management System (ELMS) is aimed at reinvigorating how students access books and digital resources, promoting lifelong reading and learning.
The launch event at Killicomaine JHS, where the library is at the heart of the school and the curriculum, was attended by special guest, UK Patron of Reading and children’s author Joffre White, who highlighted the system's transformational potential for young people.
Joffre White said: “The beating heart of every school should be a library, feeding into all aspects of the curriculum and supporting teaching and learning."I am honoured to support the launch of ELMS to unlock the vast potential of how libraries and access to books can transform a child’s journey. This system will inspire generations of readers to come, while offering equitable access to all children here.”
