A lovely, well-written read. The secrets of the past accrue and threaten to derail Jane's carefully laid plans. The story builds over decades, but the tension doesn't drop.
Funny and touching novel about sisters and their secrets, and how the consequences of keeping secrets mount up over the years. The novel bowls along at a great pace, but the writing is never less than excellent. And I loved how we stay in one character’s point of view throughout and really get inside her skin.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, which explores the unique relationships between sisters over many years. The dynamics of their family and their secrets is cleverly written from the point of view of the much younger sister. A very good read!
This is a book that draws you in. Families are complex, with unique dynamics and this is very well captured as events unfold. I laughed out loud at some points, whilst feeling pensive and reflective at others. An enjoyable and thought provoking read.
