Abandoned by his mother and raised on a Lincolnshire farm, Isaac Newton grows up isolated and lonely. When he earns a place at Cambridge University, Isaac’s extraordinary talent attracts the attention of its Professor of Mathematics. But how can a farmer's son from nowhere challenge everything his world believes to be true?
When the Great Plague forces Cambridge University to close, Isaac and his fellow students are sent home. There, beneath the apple trees of his family farm, he begins to write the mathematics that will one day change the world, unravelling the mysteries of gravity and motion. But his vision of the universe comes at a cost. As his ideas alienate those closest to him, he takes refuge in dangerous experiments, risking his sanity and his life.
