Norfolk Boy was a fantastic read and I would highly recommend this book. An excellent story with twists and turns throughout and the historical content was both engaging and educational. The characters were all different and their individual stories were interesting and well thought out. The main character, Isaac Bone, I was championing throughout as his resilience in the face of adversity made this book a real page turner. Left me wanting to read more so hopefully there will be a sequel.

I highly recommend Norfolk Boy. The writer has created a character in Isaac who drew me in and I was quickly invested in. The description and historical detail meant I could truly imagine the challenges and horror of his situation. Issac’s relationships with the people he met explored the strength of hope, humanity and the choices needed to survive. Will now recommend to my book group

I enjoy reading historical fiction from time to time and this was definitely a good read. The story zips along from the start in the Norfolk Brecks to the finish in and around a penal colony in Australia via the town of Newmarket. Every chapter took a new and often unexpected turn. I thought the period detail was well handled. I was rooting for the title character Isaac Bone all the way through. Hopefully there will be further adventures of Isaac in the future.
