Author
Dennis A Roberts lives in Suffolk. Inspired by an entry he read in the penal colony records of Port Arthur, Tasmania, Norfolk Boy is his first novel. Previous writing credits include short stories in the Suffolk Libraries Anthology, as well as an article in Norfolk/Suffolk Life magazine.
He is a member of OOPS (On and Off the Page) a local group of writers who publish their work in pamphlets produced by a community workshop with any proceeds going to charity.
An accomplished speaker Dennis is also available for author talks where he tells of the conception and writing of Norfolk Boy as well as his publishing journey. See https://speakernet.co.uk/talk/7369/norfolk-boy-writing-publishing-and-beyond for more details.

After 2025 and the rollercoaster of publication, promotion speaking events and book fairs 2026 promises to be even bigger and better. The sequel to Norfolk Boy (see below for reviews) is now more than two-thirds written and progressing well. For those of you who want to see what happens to Isaac keeping checking back for updates on progress to publication.

Reviews for norfolk Boy
“The author has created characters that leap from the page.”
“I’d recommend ‘Norfolk Boy’ to anyone who likes historical fiction with lots of action and adventure.
'Not a book I would normally choose (just not my typical genre), but oh my goodness I couldn’t put it down. The setting description is not only so vivid you can truly imagine it, but it’s also realistic (important since some of the setting is my local area). I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the character of Isaac and learning about his journey. Highly recommend reading this!
'A rags to riches story with a surprise ending, a different adventure every chapter and a main character I really rooted for. I was hooked!
