My News
An exciting week sorting out the blurb for Paper Trails with Rosie, and discussing cover art with Hannah, both of which I've enjoyed enormously. There is something SO magical about seeing what up until now has just been a Word document turning into an actual book!
For the first time for ages, I have a quiet weekend, so looking forward (at least trying) to finish the prequel to Paper Trails - well, not a prequel really, more of a companion piece. I have a sneaking suspicion it's currently a bit of a sprawly mess, but I guess that's first drafts for you.
In other news, am working with artist, Patrice Moore, who, to resolve artist's block recently, started drawing with her left hand instead of her right. The style of art she produced was completely different - childlike, joyful, colourful and full of energy. Kind of reminded me a bit of Marcus Sedgewick's illos for his Goth Froth books... I've written a story to go with, and we are wondering about an exhibition in Queen Square in Bloomsbury (Artworkers Guild maybe? Need to look into that.) The Square is where the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery is to be found, and is next to Great Ormond Street. We're thinking of giving the exhibition a slant on left brain/ right brain and perhaps use it as a fundraiser for GOSH. As you see, we are still at the over-the-top grand dreaming side of the project!
