A keen amateur sailor and navigator, Carolyn R Morgan has always been fascinated by her great-great grandfather John Clement, who skippered ships around Cape Horn to Chile for the 1880s copper trade in Swansea. Following a career in magazines, she studied writing with Curtis Brown Creative. Her debut novel, Copperopolis, was highly commended in the Irish Writers Centre Novel Fair 2024.
