After leaving the world of education, I undertook a creative writing course at my local college. I joined a writing group and this challenged me to write in different genres. My monologue, The Exile's Child was performed by the Green Curtain Theatre Company in London in 2019. My writing has featured on BBC Lancashire, in Northern Life magazine and the Lancashire Archives magazine. My ambition to have a short story published was realised when I had two published in a week. I have published two books with The Book Guild: Shampoo and Set 75 Years as a Hairdresser and Carribay.
