Coming from The Book Guild in May 2026: WHAT GOES ON TOUR
In July 1977, Harry Chatham is on the brink of becoming the first British winner of the Tour de France when a crash on a twisting mountain descent ends his life and consigns him to a footnote in sporting history.
Decades later, Harry’s son, Jim — unaware of his true parentage until after his mother’s death — sets out to uncover who his father really was. As he digs into Harry’s past, long-hidden family secrets surface, fierce loyalties are uncovered and he is drawn into the darker side of 1970s professional cycling, where he uncovers a shocking truth that has been concealed for nearly forty years. The evidence points to a revelation that could restore Harry’s reputation, but at what cost?
