Fuelled by a mixture of hope, fear and love, this is the story of one family’s tragic yet heart-warming journey through cancer diagnoses and treatments.
Told through the eyes of a father trying to guide his young daughter through treatment and support his whole family while struggling to cope with the extreme challenges himself, Stephen diaries the journey as he desperately clings to the fading hope of a miracle that might just see his daughter overcome the seemingly impossible.
Here's what readers have to say about this book....
I bought this book a while ago and couldn’t bring myself to read it until recently as I knew how heartbreaking it would be to read. Once I did start to read it, I couldn’t put it down. It was tough to read at times and I had tears down my face reading it so I can’t even begin to imagine what this journey has been like for Leah and her family but what an inspiration you all are. This is a really good read especially for anyone who is battling cancer to give them hope and to never give up, nothing is impossible! Thank you for sharing your story and for helping others battling the horrible C word!
Beautiful book. One of the most moving memoirs I have read in a long time. An emotional, honest, and deeply human account of survival, heartbreak, and resilience.
A book full of love hope and inspiration… I read it over two days …. Everyone should read it and hug their children a little tighter… so well written… keep going Leah !
Every loving parent wants to protect their child from pain and discomfort. Stephen Bennett's (author) six year old daughter is diagnosed with cancer. He provides a diary of the pain he and his family have to endure to gain a diagnosis and make decisions as to what treatment to pursue. The reader is left in no doubt of the effects these decisions had on the family. It's a moving account, with appropriate humour.
This book strikes a powerful balance between the heartbreaking realities of cancer and the uplifting power of humour and resilience. It’s an incredible, inspiring story, an absolute must-read!
